The University Honors College at MTSU delivers an exceptional undergraduate education rooted in academic excellence, intellectual challenge, and personalized learning. As an Honors student, you can major in any undergraduate program while customizing your curriculum with a mix of Honors and non-Honors courses that support your goals and interests.

You’ll benefit from small class sizes (typically capped at 20 students for lower-division courses), which foster close connections with professors and peers. Honors students also earn credit through AP scores, study abroad, independent study, and our signature Honors Lecture Series.

Graduate with Distinction

Taking general education courses as Honors options helps you build toward the required Honors hours for graduation with University Honors. From classroom discussions to global experiences, we provide the path—you define the destination. This ensures that they accumulate the necessary Honors hours for graduation with University Honors.

Upper-division (3000- and 4000-level) Honors sections are limited to 15 students. Interdisciplinary Honors courses (UH 3500) may be eligible for credit from other departments.
