Fostering the Honors Community

Honors Living and Learning Center – Lyon Hall

Students who enroll in at least one three-hour Honors class per semester qualify for residence in the Honors College Living and Learning Center. MTSU Housing and Residential Life has worked with the Honors College to create a total learning environment that unites the educational experience and the residential experience. At the beginning of the fall 2008 semester, the newly renovated Lyon Hall became home to the Honors Living and Learning Community. The facility has 236 spaces for Honors students.

In addition to the common areas, there is a gorgeous, monumental staircase in the center of the building. A skylight on the roof at the top of the stairs allows light to flow through the entire building. Each floor has a living room, study space, laundry room, and kitchen. The main lobby has a 24-hour desk and a computer lab.

All qualifying students may request residence on a first-come, first-served basis. However, if a student requests a specific roommate, that person must also meet all requirements. Contact MTSU Housing and Residential Life to obtain further information.
